Geographical area

La Barraca d'Aguas Vivas (or La Barraca as it is often called) is predominantly a rural environment which is renowned for its oranges and tangerines (clementines). Indeed many of the villas on sale will grow their own fruit which could include oranges, tangerines, lemons, limes, plums, peaches, grapefruit, nectarines, cherries depending upon their location and size of plot.

La Barraca d'Aguas Vivas is situated on the CV 50 road approximately 8 kms from the seaside town of Tavernes del Valldigna, whose clean, sandy, quiet beach lies a mere 4 kms from the main town whilst, in the opposite direction, La Barraca d'Aguas Vivas is situated a mere 12 Kms from the larger town of Alzira.

Buying properties in the La Barraca area really does offer buyers the very best of both worlds, La Barraca is predominantly a quiet, sleepy village (pueblo) which allows you to enjoy a vitually permanent state of tranquility and peacefullness in your villa. You simply govern the pace of life to exactly how you wish to spend your time. Take peaceful, stressless days in your villa, lounging by the pool, or, when you feel the need for a more vibrant, energetic time, get in the car and visit Valencia, Benidorm or the numerous seaside towns and villages which lie along the coastal road (N 332) e.g. Gandia, Oliva, Denia, Javea to the South and Cullera to the North - all thriving environments which lie within an hour to an hour and a halfs drive from La Barraca.

Other points of interest

Golf course

In 2011 it is planned to open an international standard 18 hole golf couse within about a 15 minute drive from La Barraca d'Aguas Vivas. This will have a direct and beneficial effect on the price of villas within La Barraca as the golf course will be a great attractant for golf lovers. There are very few golf courses on the Costas and ours will be one of the best which, it is believed, will host several major tournaments in the future.

Beaches

There are several high quality (european blue flag standard) beaches within 30 to 40 minutes drive from La Barraca. The nearest is Playa de Tavernes which is around a 20 minute drive from here.

Towns and Cities

The city of Valencia, Spain's third largest city, is a forty minute train journey from te neighbouring town of Alzira (8 kilometers from La Barraca) Driving into the city of Valencia takes much the same time, but we strongly recommend the use of the train service which is cheap, regular, clean and runs to time. There are many things to see, and do,in beautiful Valencia and you can become easily absorbed within the Valencian culture

The tourist town of Benidorm is about an hour and a quarters drive south of La Barraca. For that "seaside" day trip Benidorm has a lot to offer visitors and weekend, or mid week breaks, are easily accommodated for those wishing to stay a little longer than a day..
